Attorney Daniel R. Smalls

Daniel R. Smalls is the founder of Smalls Law, PLLC, a minority-owned and operated law firm located in Schenectady, New York. 

 

Born and raised in the heart of Schenectady, Smalls’ has always been known within the community as an aspiring basketball player with promising potential on the court. Following a four-year undergraduate basketball career at the College of Saint Rose, Daniel shifted his skilled defense by deciding to pursue a career in law and enrolled at Western New England University School of Law. 

Despite the gratitude for his alma mater, Smalls’ immediately returned to his hometown for admittance to the New York State Bar and joined the Schenectady County Conflict Defender’s Office to perform his due diligence for the individuals within his hometown. 

 

Daniel enjoyed the distinction of being a trial litigator for the Schenectady County Public Defender’s Office from August 2014 until January 2016 before beginning his own private practice, Smalls Law PLLC in 2016. The growing success of Smalls Law continues to break barriers within the legal field of the Capital Region and Federal level.  

 

A pillar of the community, Daniel is a current member of the Schenectady County Bar Association and has served on the Board of Directors of SAFE Inc of Schenectady and Habitat for Humanity of Schenectady County from 2015 to 2017. As Daniel continues to leave his mark in courts throughout the Capital Region, his devotion to the basketball court still lives vibrantly through his nationally ranked Shockers AAU Basketball Program founded and coached by Daniel.
